The Secret Paths Vision
Secret Paths is a fantasy role playing NFT series, set in the mystical and complex world of Yalvia. Embark on a text adventure to build your Hero and unlock access to a Quest to Earn Platform and Multiplayer Role Playing Game.
The Big Picture
Our primary mission is to build a brand around a detailed and lore-rich fantasy world, with inspiration drawn from 80–90s role playing and fantasy games.
What do we mean by a brand? Simply put, there are three main development pillars to Secret Paths :
- Text adventure — a classic text based adventure where your choices and decisions lead to different outcomes. It will serve the joint purpose of introducing the fantasy based world of Yalvia, while also providing NFT rewards in the form of items to be combined into your final art based Hero. With your continued support, we would love to see the world of Yalvia and its characters come to life through media adaptations.
- Quest to Earn — GameFi and DeFi have proven to be extremely profitable and enjoyable for its users and as such, we want to build our own platform with an innovative Quest to Earn mechanic. The platform will tie into the Hero NFTs received from completing the text adventure, providing the core utility to the set.
- Multiplayer role playing game — The world of Yalvia will continue to provide endless adventures. Following the completion of the initial text adventure, we want to take it one step further and create a Dungeons & Dragons inspired platform that will enable our community to collaboratively venture out into the wilderness, and stake their claim as Legends of Yalvia.
A Different Approach To The Standard NFT Mint
Typically, most project mints provide the buyer an art based NFT upfront following the initial mint. We are taking a slightly different approach.
In order to start the journey and access the text adventure, users will first need to mint/own a character card which will possess underlying physical attributes, skills and stats.
During the text based adventure players, as a consequence of their choices, will unlock armour, weapon and other items cards, which will ultimately be combined and staked to receive the final art based NFT, a Hero.
We will be publishing a detailed explanation the text based adventure and its mechanics in the near future.
Why are we doing it this way?
- To provide flexibility over the final art received. As each component can be traded on a NFT marketplace, you can build your unique Hero as you like.
- To encourage the community to work together to combine the knowledge scattered across different paths in order to solve complex puzzles for high rewards.
- A text adventure provides the perfect opportunity to introduce the lore rich world of Yalvia.
Executing the Vision
The Team
To execute any game plan you need a skilled and driven team. Our team are all avid blockchain enthusiasts and are highly skilled in each of their respective domains. The core team currently consists of a writer, artist, engineer, marketer and team lead, all of whom will be doxxed prior to the first mint.
Transparency is core to our vision and we want to ensure the community supporting the project that we will remain accountable throughout.
Timeline
The three pillars of the brand we wish to build will be brought to market in succession.
The text adventure will come first and shortly after the initial mint. It will take place over five parts and culminate in adventurers combining their items to receive their Hero NFTs.
Meanwhile, the build for the Quest to Earn platform will be underway. Once released, the final team will be assembled for the multiplayer roleplaying game, inspired by Dungeons & Dragons.
Concluding Remarks
We are building a project that we as a team of fantasy and RPG fans would love to play. We have a clear vision of what we want to build and what we need in order to deliver it to market.
Without a community, the project cannot materialize and as such, we will ensure that early adopters of our project will be in for quite an adventure and will continue to benefit as we expand the Secret Paths brand.
